Simbi Coffee Washing Station and Kinazi Coffee Washing Station are privately owned and operated by Abdul Rudahunga under SIMBI COFFEE INVESTMENT Ltd, who was inspired to get into the coffee business by his grandmother. She was also a coffee farmer and one of the few rural Rwandans that roasted and enjoyed her own coffee as part of her daily routine.
Kinazi Coffee Washing Station started operation in 2016, This 2018 season is the second for Kinazi to operate and he is the winner of Cup Of Excellence at 13th place with a score of 87.65 in 28 winning lots from 150 lots selected national wide.
During that period the coffee is continually hand sorted by an army of brightly clothed women who are meticulous in their removal of defect beans. Kinazi Coffee has started the program of breeding coffee in nurseries for farmers who are motivated in growing coffee. These coffee trees are distributed free of charge.
